GIZ Boosts Lwengo District Planning Department
GIZ under the Civil Society in Uganda (CUSP) through the Central Government supported Lwengo District Planning Department with funds worth 26,190,000= for Participatory Planning and Budgeting activities. This was presented by the District Planner during the Entry Stakeholders Meeting which was conducted at the District. In the same meeting, MR Louis Okello the GIZ CUSP Technical Adviser on Governance informed members that the specific objective is to Strengthen and improve the capacity and efficiency of civil society in Uganda, highlighting the need for government - CSO engagement in support of Uganda’s development goals. Furthermore, Mr. Louis informed members that the programme is funded by the European Union and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The meeting was attended by the District Chairman and the Deputy RDC who both thanked GIZ for considering Lwengo and they both pledged maximum cooperation and political support.
